Research proof

 We wanted an idea for our film, so we decided to look at a simular film 28 weeks later. In this film it had eerie quite and deserted scenes which a what we wanted in our film. The film had lots of scenes of empty cities that  are usually packed full of people. we know that we do not have the athority to kick out people from towns and cities, and we don't have the technology, money or recourses to make the scene so we will use streets schools and parks which are usally full of people. 



Locations
When looking at the film ‘28 Weeks Later’ for our research, I noticed that most of the scenes were local places such as streets, hospitals, parks, and shops.

So for our beginning of the film we have created we have decided to use lots of local places, during the day. We will be using empty parks, parks are usually filled with children every where, on other hand we don’t want our park to be like that we want it empty, this helps to show that the world is empty. Also the parks being empty make the audience think, it also makes our audience uncomfortable. As well as parks we will use dark ally ways, schools, and to really make the audience uncomfortable we will show a shot of an empty baby’s room. An empty baby’s room upset the audience, however, it also makes our audience carry on watching it to see if they can find out what happened to every one.
I think that having empty locations is important as it helps to show that every one has disappeared. How ever the world isn’t left in one big mess so that the audience knows that everyone didn’t disappear in a hurry.

To day 16 November

Today we film our beginning of our movie. We decided to find a small road, with a dead end and film, we wanted to use the dead end as it would be more safe for nancy to lay on the road while we filmed.
Today we filmed Nancy walking around deserted places, on her own. We didn't seem to have any problems today, However we did take lots of shots as Nancy could not stop laughing or smiling, as well as that we took more incase of any problems.

Difficulties When Filming

Some of the difficulties we have when filming was the weather, most times that we filmed it was raining or it was too sunny. so we had to wait for the rain to stop, or the sun to go away. This delayed our filming time quite alot.

Another diffculty we had was with the technology, when we held the camara we kept shaking it. So to fix this we have decided to use a camara stand.

Filming Schedule

Film Nancy walking through forest.

·         Wednesday 3rd November 2010
On this day will be recording class rooms and a close up of a clock.

·         Wednesday 10th November 2010
Today we will be filming shots of the school. As well as out side of school we will take more small shots of an empty park and of an empty street.

·         Friday 12th November 2010
We will be filming a retake of Nancy walking through the forest.

·         Sunday 14th November 2010 (debating on weather)
We will be filming, the start of our story board in early afternoon 12:30. Then by the evening we will be filming the end of the story bored.

·         Monday 15th November 2010
We will take more shots of abandon places.
This is our filming schedule, depending on the weather.

Representing My Social Group

For my video my group and i have decided to do a working class teenage girl. To show this we have researched high street shops to find out what the aveage working class teenage girl would where. legings was the most used, and bought by teenage girls. Aswell as the wooly knitted cardigans.

Today

In todays lesson we looked at what we have recorded so far. In the other lesson we recorded our actress (Nancy) walking into and through a forest. We also filmed some deserted place's such as an empty school. Having empty places that have been deserted, helps the story of a extic world, come alive. When Nancy walked through the and into the forest we decided to do a match on action.

In todays lesson we filmed more empty shots, of school classrooms, and a clock. The clock we decided is going to be a clue for the rest of the film. Also in todays lesson we edited what we have filmed sofar,making sure that no clip was to long or to short.

Animatics

An animatic is a animated clip, or movie, made usally from pictures. Most animatics move very little, it's usally just a slight movement of one part of the clip. The would very rarly move like an original movie or film clip.

Our animatic was illustrated by me. However, the storyline was created by all of the group. The clip is about a girl who is left in world on her own not knowing what happened to every one. In the animatic story bored the girl is on her own, to show this I drew lots of pictures of deserted places, such as parks, houses schools and forests. This brings the  effect that she is alone. When we loaded the film we noticed that it was blury, however, that was not our fault and there is nothing we can do about as it is the technology.

Proof of Planning


 These are some pictures of my story bored. It is important to have a story bored as it is a plan. Plan is needed to help us remeber what we are doing.

It is also important to have a plan as I will need to know what I am doing when filming and directing the film. Having a plan helps others involved in the filming, such as actresses, camara people and the director what to do.

Research props and costumes

Our film is the genre horror, we researched films such as 28 days later. When looking this film we looked at the scenes, clothes props. This helps us with our film as it makes it more realistic, and more interesting.
The clothes nancy will be wearing is the young casual fasion, we wanted the film to like a normal day for an average teenager. We did not want any chavs (young rebals), or emos (depressed teenagers,) in our film we wanted our character to be more casual and in between the two teenagers.

This a picture of our main character Nancy, This is what she a wearing in a our film. The look of this teenager is casual but neat and smart. Nancy does not look like she is poor however she doesnt look like she is extremly rich either. Nancy looks like an avarage working class teenager, with a family who works for a desenct waige, over £30 000.00.

Our film is about an abandon world, so looking at the film 28 days later was a great help for us, it showed us what scenes we need in our film. We need to find lots of abandon places such as a babys room that would make our target audiance feel bad.

Perlemary Task Audiance

The audice for my mini movie are teenager girls. As a teenager I know what their intrests are, my intrest is drama as they intertain me. However, teenagers need morals and warnings to help them in life that is we involved a young teenager getting pregnant. Having a young teenager pregnant it warns teenage girls to use contraception.

We left the girl saying to her friend that she is preganat this wants the teenage girls to find out how she got preganant and what she is going to do about it.

Evaluation of Perlemary Task

My group and I had to create and edit part of a movie clip. In this Task my group and I had to do an action shot which was the actor walking though the door, we also had to do a shot reverse shot which was the camara looking at one person and then looking at the other person talking then back to the first person talking, aswell as that we had to use the 180 dergress rule. We used recording camras to film the clip and lap tops with special program called pinnacle. Doing this task I learnt different skills on how to use a camara and the different views that you can use. I also learnt different techniques on how to edit a film on pinnacle. 

Aswell as that I learnt different camara shots such as, Long, short, close, Wide and two person shots. I also learnt angles of shots, like low angle shot, which makes some one look powerful, opposite to that there is the high angle shot which makes the actor/ actress look less powerful or even vunrable. Another angle is tilt which can reacts with the audiace, what the tilt does is makes the audiance seem awquard. 

I also learnt Camara movement, such as Pan, pan is when it stays in one spot and only moves up and down, another camara movement is Track this movement is when the camara is on a track and moves along it. Crab is a camara movement what happens in this movement the camara stays at a certain hight and then moves side to side. 

Editing my film was really difficult, what I found most difficult was cutting this was because my group and I had to cut it on the rite second. But I did learn how to load my film, from the Camara. I also learnt how to add titles and even though we didnt use credits I learnt how to use them. I also now know how to use the sound clips on  pinnacle. 

Problems we had when filming the problems we had when filing was finding a room we spent most of the lessons trying to find a free room at school, so by the time we started filming, a class for the next lesson would appear so we had to find another room, this caused use to have to redo the film from the begging.

Planning

I believe that planning to make a film is important, as it helps people understand what they doing. Planning also helps you to improve the film make it more interesting. Planning for a film helps decide what you want to do and what other people want to do.  Some people say if you fail to plan you plan to fail.
  I also think that planning is important as it tells every one who is involved in the filming and editing, what must be done and how it must be done. For example if we started film we wouldnt know where to start, what we need to improve and how we would film.

Why I chose Media Studies

I had chosen media studies as it involves using computer programs such as movie maker. We also will be using video camras and acting. I am the kind of person who likes to act so I think this is a brilliannt A level to chose. In this lesson we design, I come across as a creavtive person so designing is right up my alley. I belive that I will like Media Studies, even though it has alot of writting in it.
