Evaluation

When creating our two minute beginning of our made up video we decided to have a mystery, horror. Which would consist of having empty shots of a range of places. Which would mean that there couldnt be any people of moving cars included in these shots.


The idea of our film is for our main character Nancy to be alone in an abandan world. We wanted to have the beginning as a  dream this would tell the audience wat the film is about. Aswell as not giving the story line away.

Our Film is called Extiction, we agreed as group to have this title as it fits into our film, also a simple title with a big meaning will attrack our audiance.

In our Movie our scenes are mostly deserted by humans, so we had empty shots. By having empty shots we tell our target market that the world is empty. We found it difficult when trying to film the empty shots as people and cars kept getting in the way this delayed our time on the film. However saying that some of your shots had our main character Nancy in them who was played by Nancy. Nancy is  young teenage girl who is in the working class. To show to the audience that she is in the working class she wore a highstreet fasion clothes. We introduced our character by having her waking up in the middle the road. We felt this was a good idea as it gets our target market thinking why is waking up in the middle of a road, in which keeps them watching the film.

The filming skills we used in our film were, match on action we used this at the beginning of our film when Nancy wakes and stands up. We have also used alot of wide and close shots. We done this to show the audience the scenery and the facial expressions of Nancy.

As well as that we used a low shot when filming Nancy's feet we done this to give a closer shot of what she was wearing, this shot also showed that her feet were the only feet in the shot showing the audience that she was alone.

On the other hand When editing our shots we used a program called pinical. My group and I at first found it difficult to use this program but after time we found it quite easy. However we had some diificulties using the laptop as it kept shutting down due the memory being to full. Also because of that our film and clips got deleted, this wasted loads of our time. In result we then had to refilm and edit.

Our Character represets teenagers, Her clothes and her body language tell our target market that she is an average working class citezen. The social group that Nancy is in helps us to attract our target market. Our target market is from years 14 - 60 who like mysteries or horrors. We decided that this film would be to scary for children under 13.

What I have learnt from this prodject is how to edit a film, also I have learnt different camara shots, in which some I havent even heard of. I have also found different levels and what they mean, such as a worms I view which gives a character power.

Research proof

 We wanted an idea for our film, so we decided to look at a simular film 28 weeks later. In this film it had eerie quite and deserted scenes which a what we wanted in our film. The film had lots of scenes of empty cities that  are usually packed full of people. we know that we do not have the athority to kick out people from towns and cities, and we don't have the technology, money or recourses to make the scene so we will use streets schools and parks which are usally full of people. 

Locations

When looking at the film ‘28 Weeks Later’ for our research, I noticed that most of the scenes were local places such as streets, hospitals, parks, and shops.

So for our beginning of the film we have created we have decided to use lots of local places, during the day. We will be using empty parks, parks are usually filled with children every where, on other hand we don’t want our park to be like that we want it empty, this helps to show that the world is empty. Also the parks being empty make the audience think, it also makes our audience uncomfortable. As well as parks we will use dark ally ways, schools, and to really make the audience uncomfortable we will show a shot of an empty baby’s room. An empty baby’s room upset the audience, however, it also makes our audience carry on watching it to see if they can find out what happened to every one.

I think that having empty locations is important as it helps to show that every one has disappeared. How ever the world isn’t left in one big mess so that the audience knows that everyone didn’t disappear in a hurry. 

      

To day 16 November

Today we film our beginning of our movie. We decided to find a small road, with a dead end and film, we wanted to use the dead end as it would be more safe for nancy to lay on the road while we filmed.
Today we filmed Nancy walking around deserted places, on her own. We didn't seem to have any problems today, However we did take lots of shots as Nancy could not stop laughing or smiling, as well as that we took more incase of any problems.

Difficulties When Filming

Some of the difficulties we have when filming was the weather, most times that we filmed it was raining or it was too sunny. so we had to wait for the rain to stop, or the sun to go away. This delayed our filming time quite alot.

Another diffculty we had was with the technology, when we held the camara we kept shaking it. So to fix this we have decided to use a camara stand.

Today we will be filming shots of the school. As well as out side of school we will take more small shots of an empty park and of an empty street.

·         Friday 12^th November 2010

We will be filming a retake of Nancy walking through the forest.

·         Sunday 14^th November 2010 (debating on weather)

We will be filming, the start of our story board in early afternoon 12:30. Then by the evening we will be filming the end of the story bored.

·         Monday 15^th November 2010

We will take more shots of abandon places.

Representing My Social Group

For my video my group and i have decided to do a working class teenage girl. To show this we have researched high street shops to find out what the aveage working class teenage girl would where. legings was the most used, and bought by teenage girls. Aswell as the wooly knitted cardigans.

Today

In todays lesson we looked at what we have recorded so far. In the other lesson we recorded our actress (Nancy) walking into and through a forest. We also filmed some deserted place's such as an empty school. Having empty places that have been deserted, helps the story of a extic world, come alive. When Nancy walked through the and into the forest we decided to do a match on action.

In todays lesson we filmed more empty shots, of school classrooms, and a clock. The clock we decided is going to be a clue for the rest of the film. Also in todays lesson we edited what we have filmed sofar,making sure that no clip was to long or to short.
